hey all
trying to figure out why this car is sucking fuel harder than a local in midland on doll day

story goes
Buy 99 auxr6 manual with f**k head :(
fix head :) car starts 1st turn of the key ie less than 1/2 second of starter turning, after head been fixed

since then fuel econ has been s**t getting around 450 kms or so to a tank
now i have a 98 AUXR6 AUTO as well this gets well over 600kms a tank depending on how you drive sometimes 550..
its my understanding that an manual should be more efficient than auto right?

both cars have full exhaust ( auto has genie headers, manual has pacemakers )
so what has been done to the Manual car

well new gaskets on the head,
new fuel filter
new air filter ( cleaned K+N from the auto )
new plugs
new o2 sensor
2 diff brands of injector cleaner over a period of a few weeks

fuel econ still sucks
no codes are being thrown either
When you let off the gas at ANY speed you can hear the burble of fuel being burnt in the exhaust sounds great but i think this is the issue..

how hard is it to diagnose a leaky injector/s?

is it worth getting them recoed or should i just buy new ones or recoed ones and if so from where?
have seen a few on ebay but not sure if i want to trust those any one have a trusted seller?

All I can help with is don't buy cheap ebay injectors.
I had one get stuck open on my parents AU after only a few months..
Get your originals cleaned, should be around the $100ish mark!

Thats all I got :P

That would be a good alternative then, that's quite cheap!
Just make sure they are genuine..

I just take the old injectors to Repco, and get exchange AZNEW injectors....they are about the same price as getting them cleaned, except you don't have to wait.
http://www.aznew.com.au/

Just a thought.
