About 6 months ago my car was running like a bag of s...t.

If you didn't have the air-con on and pulled up at a set of traffic lights it would splutter and sound like it was missing.

Turned out the intake manifold gaskit had a crack in it.
This has been replaced but its done it again.up.
I have tightened all the bolts.

And sprayed areo start on it when idling. And it idles up.

Any one have any idea's why my car would eat intake manifold gaskets?

It did it on the weekend it was 28+ I went for a drive 3 hours and had the air con on the whole way.


Are there any after market gas kits that are not a piece of crap?

So youve had an LPG backfire right?

The trick is to stop those. often its not the kit - the backfires start when the spark plugs need a change. You get a backfire head straight out for plugs.

Otherwise you'll probably have an issue with your Engine Earths, and the LPG kit cant see the correct readings off the O2 sensor

Its not on gas....

its got somesort of backfire. either that or its a pinched gasket from installation or there is a burr on the head or manifold that is damaging the gasket either on install or when being driven.

In the ACL VRS kit there are a few gaskets. there is a very thin one that would not crack the factory one. But you normally get 10 or years out the stock one. Do you have the gasket out again to know for sure that the problem? Or is the symptom just seeming the same but could be caused by a different vacuum leak.

Make sure the intake manifold is flat......I have seen them fvcked up from factory, where the manifold must have moved and the tool takes a deeper than normal cut leaving a spot for vacuum leaks to occur.
When fitting a new gasket, it should be a thick one.
I use high temp grease on the gasket, this stops them from drying out and shrinking.....also seals very nicely.
If at sometime you wish to remove the head, the intake gasket just comes off.

Also the main thing is to not over tighten the bolts, it's quite easy to over tighten an split the gasket

could be the little plastic duo-plug thing on the bbm. On the inside of the intake it connects to the charcoal canister and the pcv valve.
That said if it is the same joint you already replaced then you need to look at you're procedures. If you have it back off run some fine emery cloth over the face using a file untill it's flat again. This will also show up any imperfections. Don't leave the surface too smooth but not rough either.

I use silicone on all gaskets as i've never had one last 10 years, but theres plenty of people say you don't have to.
