A guy at work has just bought an EL Falcon and when we popped the bonnet at lunch I saw the biggest intake snorkel. Its bigger than AU3 XR8, EL GT and SS inductions one. See the above link for the one I'm talking about. I didnt even know they existed. I'm gonna change all mine to that one. Opening is huge!!!!!! |

If your wanting a "bolt" accessory its the way to go in a way .. money wise no
but if not, you can make your own cold air induction which would be more effective cost wise and performance. |

How much do they cost fuzion? They wouldnt be as much as the SS inductions one.

$254.99 if I remember right - I've been eyeing the one at work. I can't justify the money on it as the plastic used is bloody thin. Just a rip off huge mark up margin Aunger must be getting, materials to make that couldn't cost more than $10.00! Are they really bigger than the SS Inductions? I always thought the SS Inductions were larger, but I've never seen an SS in the flesh. |

I've got an SS in my car and this aunger looks pretty much the same. I don't see how it could be any larger because my bonnet just has enough room for the SS so I don't know how you could go any bigger

i've got one of these it is larger then the ss one but almost 1/2 of it is blocked but the rubber and sound/heat mat under the bonnet, a little waist of money. But as for the size i can get my 2 fists in the opening.
yeah $249 sounds right |

yeah $249 sounds right Pull the the rubber and matting off (like XR's) or just trim away the area over/blockling it - your bonnet should be painted underneath too, so it won't look too messy! |

Guys, there's almost no real volume difference between the Aunger and the SS Induction cold air intakes. I know this as I have had both on my car.
Aunger CAI SS Inductions CAI For those wishing to go and fit the Aunger then I offer this free piece of advice; you have to pull the Aunger CAI as far forward as possible when screwing in the two front anchoring screws. The reason for this is that the Aunger CAI is almost touching the power steering pulley. I fitted the Aunger initially with the standard screw hole placement and after a few weeks the power steering pulley had ground its way through the back of the CAI letting in crappy warm air. I went back and exchanged the Aunger for the CAI ( because it was worth a fair bit of money ) and received the SS Inductions CAI which I made sure was pulled as far forward as possible and then drilled two holes into the front lip of it for the anchoring screws. The clearance between the back of the SS Inductions CAI is only marginally greater than the Aunger one but it doesn't rub now. All in all a very tight fit.

It might be the angle of the shots, but the Aunger one looks like it has a larger intake hole/mounth.
Whats the size difference between the two were they enter into the air box - as this is the real reason why these two CAI are better than the stock one - because aswell as increasing the mouth size (like the AU Tickford XR8 one does), they also increase the size of the entery point into the air box (where all the Ford snorkels are the same smaller size). |

The pipe into the airbox is larger and you have to cut a larger hole into the airbox.
In regards to the bigger size look of the Aunger, the actual rubber trim on the underside of the bonnet cuts across the Aunger's open area so warm air would be getting in when the bonnet is closed. The SS Induction intake seems to take this into account and the flat part with the sticker on it matches the contour of the bonnet's rubber trim. But seeing as the pipe into the airbox is the same size for both then there is little point worrying that the Aunger will let me air in that the SS. But I should point out that fitting one of these intakes is really only beneficial if the entire plumbing into the engine and through the exhaust matches it. The big horsepower engines will use this intake fully and not so much us guys with the regular size TB's etc. I figured this out too late and would have gotten the regular AU XR snorkel and saved myself some money.

I didnt realise they were that expensive. What a waste of money. The opening looks to be a fair bit larger than the SS inductions one.
I'd rather stick to the EL GT one for $30. Thanks for the tip Vic. |

why not trim the rubber and that a bit around the area then with the Aunger? |

No problem mate. It might look larger at the opening but they both squeeze down to the same size enlarged pipe going into the airbox.
