Hey guys,
Only just registered, wanting a little bit of information/advice before I start this project. I've got an auto '95 EF wagon and plan on doing a conversion, dropping in a stock 6 cylinder BA engine AND changing it over to manual at the same time. I've been doing a bit of research in regards to this and have found that one of the issues people have encountered in the past were the bonnet not closing due to the motor being a bit bigger. Does anyone have any experience at all? I'm getting a mechanic to do all the work, but I'd like to know what possible problems I could run into as soon as I can. Thanks in advance, Ash |

You'll need to cut a notch out of your k-frame and reinforce it and maybe grind a little bit off the front of the sump.
The bonnet won't shut even if you cut out some of the reinforcing, you'll need to add some sort of scoop or something. |

Sweet, I'll definitely have a read through the forum. Would changing the bonnet to one with the BA bonnet bulge fix up the problem?

i thought people just cut a bit of the inner bonnet out, and the bonnet shut no problems,

Spacer under the KFrame mounts will gain you a bit more clearance.

And, don't forget about all the wiring mods to integrate the BA PCM to run the engine, and still provide the needed signals to the EF ECU for the dash etc to function as per normal.
You will also need to get the BA PCM flashed to remove all the security etc, and install the electronic throttle and wire it up etc. Oh, and the BA T5 is longer than the e series one, so the gear stick comes up further back, and you will then need a custom tailshaft. You will need to do LOTS of research before you decide to go ahead. Cheers BenJ
