985's are what Jim Mock use on all e-series engines in their mock kits. They project further into the head than standard plugs, thus resulting in a better burn/bang?. Claimed 4rwkw by Jim Mock Dyno.

just a thought i have used these plugs and then converted the number over to ngk plugs the heat range is way off maybe a tune may bring out the best in them. In a ngk they are 4 in the heat range versus 6 for the stock plug. They are cleveland spark plugs hence the smaller hex size, just food for thought expect some timing change from these plugs.

I have tried them in au vct, ed with el xr6 ecu,and el xr6,expect a rougher idle and a little rougher in the mid range use only premium fuel or boost 98,regular or cheap fuel with plug will cause rough idle sometimes stalling, reset ecu when you fit them, it will lose some bottom end but gain pull up top,

you can use the xr6 plug but in a 5 maybe, i can dig up the ngk number if any one is interested, you could also go to the early 250 cross flow plug and get something similar.

If you have an e series (not ef) this change in heat range will give you some retard in timing you can use this to put more advance in your timing when you set it in diagnostic mode should give more top end but kinda pointless with the limiter you will find it smashes the hell out of the rev limiter.

what drugs are you on?

i'd really love to see you get 985s to fit a cast iron clevo head. clevos use a tapper seat, the 985 is a washer seat.

i could go and on here, but i think i'll just upset you.

If any one is interested, do a google advance search for the 985s on the this site.
there is a very good thread, with photo comparison between the plugs both side by side and installed in the head, (photos from chamber side)

in answer to the question about being used in an AU, yes i have, and i still do. at less then $4 a plug why wouldn't you. they also work great with gas. My AU runs dual fuel.

so whats the difference between the auotlite 985's and APP63's spark plugs then they both have 1.1 gap on them and will the 985's work fine in a EL XR6?
