if you used the dizzy from the first engine that chewed out the aux shaft?
it will keep chewing out the rest, best to replace the dizzy with a new one when you fit a new aux shaft |

You can't miss match new with old parts. the drive on the dizzy needs to stay with its original aux shaft.
replace one and you need to replace the other. If you replace the dizzy for any reason you should remove the gear from the old dizzy and fit it to the new dizzy. A new aux shaft needs a new dizzy drive gear. Running engine oil that is too thick or using a high pressure oil pump also places extra pressure on the gear. On the subject of oil, try to find and oil that has a high zinc dithiophosphate (ZDDP) content. That will help reduce wear Mobil 1 0W40 is 1100ppm and Mobil 1 15W50 is 1300ppm. Valvoline VR1 10W40 has .13% of Zinc and .12% of Phosphorus (i'm not sure what ppm that equates to, but i have emailed valvoline about it) |
