Fair enough, i dont run mine due to dash pot and occasionally stalling when pushing the clutch in at low rpm, cold starts arnt too bad, just have to hold the go pedal at 750rpm for 15 secs till shes happy to idle herself, but ive thought about putting a switch on the ISC so i can have it on for first cold start up then turn it off, A when im keen job.. haha

Hey MAD great idea I was thinking about a way to bring the isc back if I could be bothered lol def post up a pic. Might have to pop to the wreckers some gas falcons have had something like that done haven't they?
Def a good mod saved a good bit of cash too.

I don't think the LPG ones are like this. They had a plate between the ISC and TB for something. The way mine is done is more like how the ISC is retained on a GasResearch installation. I'll grab some photos tonight if you like. |

Obviously I don't have it on the car at the moment due to the mishap with the suupercharger, but this is the plate for the ISC.
With the supercharger kit this plumbs into the intake tube just after the TB, and has an inlet on the aluminium elbow before the TB. I don't think this really needs those bosses welded on, just the flat plate would have been enough. Pretty basic setup.... One pipe is filtered air in, the outlet is to the manifold. On an N/A engine the easiest would be to tee the ISC outlet into the PCV line. The inlet on the ISC is the cupped side of the plunger, manifold vac is on the domed side. |

Time for an update..........Also a few things to consider for anyone thinking of fitting a ba throttle to e series manifold.
I've got my ba throttle set up and ready to fit, so I thought I'd do a test fit on my spare manifold. Quickly found out its not just a case of "bolt it on and go" So while I wait for my manifold to arrive, here's what i've found so far. 1. The ba bolt holes need to be drilled out to 8mm to suit the e series threads. 2. You need much longer bolts, and they have to be socket caps (allen key heads) as hex head bolts won't clear the larger throttle bore. 3. You will need to find a way to mount the cable pulley. It's not just a case of "pull it off the old shaft and fit to the new." Apart from the shaft size difference, the orientation is way off. Throttle cable would end up kinked and the pedal would feel terrible. 4. The e series tps needs to be used, so you'll need to work out a way to fit it, and it needs to be spot on centred on the shaft or it won't last long. You will also need to make sure it is set in the correct position, ie around 0.7v @ idle. 5. You will need to install a throttle stop of some description, as the ba throttle will go past the full throttle position, meaning that last bit of pedal travel will be like backing off. 6. The e series manifold entry is not even close to big enough. Some serious metal removal is required to provide an unrestricted path. Mine, stock, measured up to between 63.5 and 65mm (size varied at different points) So I've got a ba manifold on the way. Plan is to fit the top half onto the ef runners, then work out how I'm going to go about fitting the e series air temp sensor etc.

One last quick question. Was just wondering now if the 70mm hole will actually flow more than the combined ability of the rest of the manifold?
Has anyone ever calculated the maximum amount of flow of the manifold without a throttle body? I just want to see that you get maximum gain for your effort, thats all. |

I'd think the manifold would flow plenty, with short runners open you effectively have two runners feeding into one. The runners are also larger diameter than the head's intake ports.
I think the head would hit it's flow limit before the manifold.
