Hey fellas got bored today and had been reading that a few people with modified engines had been putting on 68mm tb and seeing gains and I knew that the ba had a 70mm I picked up one today to see if it was possible to fit. Low and behold not too hard.. I'll do a full write up tomorrow if anyone wants.
Obviously you do lose isc but that never bothered me.

Nice, would like to attempt this when you get the writeup done!
Where is the idle screw if you lose the isc? Doesnt bother me coz i dont run my isc anyway, but no isc needs you to wind the idle screw up abit more for required idle. If that makes sense lol.

Hey man thanks for that! Idle screw is silver and you can see it on pic just above the tps

Ahh yeah, i see it there, i must be blind as a bat ahah.
Good job ayy, How well did the tps line up with the flat bar that it sits on? And is there only the one bolt hole that lines up for the tps? Did you notice much of a difference in response after changing to the BA one? Also are all ba/f throttle bodys the same whether it be XR6 or XT? Cheers mate, please link me the write up when done keep up the good work.

You can idle a car by drilling a small hole in the throttle butterfly and go bigger until you get the required amount lol. Great idea on the bigger TB mate

You should half the size of the tb shaft as well!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes its snappier off the mark feels more Torquey in mid range at part throttle (odd I know) it pulls stronger to 6000 which suits the cam. I have to drill holes for the tps and get a nut and bolt for that. Took a bit of Fiddling to get that right at be moment I have an ugly bracket holding it in its place lol I ran out of time to complete It yesterday will finish tonight tidy it up and do a write up. Ba bf throttle bodies are all the same xr or xt falcon. Ft are different can't use an fg one. 70mm is probably overkill but its an improvement and not costly at all. Cost 25 at self serve.

I would've thought torque would be down but overall hp up. Be interested to see a before and after on a dyno.

Best bit about that mod is how the car now idles properly!

Nice work. I looked at doing this to a twin 60mm from a gt500 for my supercharger but decided I cbf.
Any t/b from the Ford stable that uses the same motor could be modified the same way. A little bit of fab, some brass barbs, and some heater hose would have ISC up and running again if you really wanted it. |

But getting abit keen arnt we? haha Any time you have forced induction where the throttle body is before the power adder, you want a little restriction as possible. You can get away with a smaller t/b when it is after the power adder. My kit already has a Ford twin 57mm on it, which is rough equivalent to an 80mm single. |

Oh.
I haven't got any good pics of how mine is set up, but it's a plate of steel with two holes drilled for barbs that bolts to the ISC, then it's just a barb before and one after the t/b. Works great. No s**t cold starts. You could easily tee it in to the PCV line too. |
