Hi I have a Barra in a jet boat running standard car computer. The ecu stopped working on the weekend. So my question is what do I need to get into the vid block to alter the codes so I can make my spare ecu a stand alone ecu. Cheers

the ecu needs to be reflahsed to run standalone.
depending whats wrong with your existing one, it may be able to be read, and the tune copied over to the spare one.
keep in mind these ecu arent waterproof, water can get into them from the breather holes in the connectors so for marine use its worth trying to elimate the possibility of water reaching the ecu.
also check the rest of the wiring incase its harness related and not ecu related

Thanks 66 coupe yes it is the ecu I’ve got a spare but it doesn’t have the securities taken out of it so it won’t run on its own but I’ve plugged that in and the throttle body fires up which it not what happens with the old one. I’m after the items to flash the e u as I have the codes that I need to change. Cheers Steve
