Man, all these BA engines in E/X series cars is getting me excited. Hope I can do the same one day.

I thought JetXR's was illegal because he had that hole in the bonnet? I guess if you installed a bulge and actually used it, you'd get around that problem.

thats not the only reason its illegal :P

I just looked at the K-Frame on my EL compared to the EA...god damn the cross member on the EL is much fatter then the weak looking EA one

Looks like I'll need to find out if the Sump can be modified instead of the K-frame

Yeah, apparantly touching the k-frame is a good way to instantly make your car illegel. Besides no airbag and the hole in the bonnet, what else makes JetXR's car illegal?

That's all I know at the moment.

Though I am sure if you get the K-Frame re-engineered that possible.

I was wondering...is it possible to swap K-Frames? I'm not sure if they are bolted on or welded on even though I just checked the frames on the EL and EA...

you physically can put an earlier eseries kframe in, though i wouldn't goto that extent.

why not? They can handle the weight of a windsor no probs. And its still easy enough to retro-fit the EL steering rack to the boxcar Kframe

i'm sure theres just as much in terms of legalities putting in an earlier kframe as there would be having a custom one done.
the EA-ED one really looks poor compared to the EF/EL one.

Man I bet getting a modified k-frame engineered would cost a pretty penny.

So would I.

I guess you can't get a BA K-Frame and chuck it into the EL then.

Well looks like its the sump hack way.

swapping k-frames can be done but why make things hard - Just cut and weld the sump. Its been done before and its completely legal. People might not like doing it because its alloy (so not the easiest to weld) but just keep asking til you find someone who will do it.

or contact these guys and ask them if they can do a BA for you http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Modified-AU-4-0- ... dZViewItem
