Hehe, Aussie Car Recyclers, I've been there a few times. Got heaps of Ford interiors, etc. in the back area.

I doubt they would be. The hump on the sump would be for a reason.

have you tried lowering the sump to have a look? I'm curious to see if there is anything in there. If there isn't then I guess it should be all good.

Nah not yet. I think the oil pump might be sitting under there as suggested by EFFalcon.

I probably wont take the sump off of this motor until I turbo it which wont be for at least a month.

There is too many bolts holding it on!

Behind the pulley on the BA sump is a hump.

That sits on top of the crossmember in an EA.

OHHH that hump...would it be possible to cut after the hump if the oil pump happens to be there? It would still make a fit then having not to cut the sump.

You could also use an adaptor plate between the block and the engine mount to raise/lower the engine which might give you more space where you need it. If you are going to bump the bonnet anyway it might be easier just to have a bigger bulge and lift the motor to clear the k-frame.

anyway - enough ideas, got get a DOHC and tell us how to do it :D
