Im not going to turbo my car but i wouldn't mind having a stock BA/BF intercooler sitting behind my front bar to give me that extra cold air.

What i want to get a cooler and have the plumbing go to under the air box (obviously cutting a whole in the wheel arch and air box for the pipe to go through)

Will that work? or is to much cold air no good?
Does the BA/BF intercooler have 2 openings on each side or 1?
I think it has 1 on the top on 1 on the left hand side (looking from the front)

yeah i think you're right, have you thought about getting the ba/f intercooler piping from the tb to air box / intercooler?

so you could have a boxed pod and the cooler runing straight into the tb exhaust side.

can you understand that? I'm pretty scatt haha

as far as i know this is a stupid idea.. how cold do you think the air thru the intercooler is..when i had my el fairmont i got a 3 inch holesaw and went straight thru the bottom of my airbox and straight thru the metal skins under the airbox. i then routed a $25 length of flexible induction pipe (from supercheap) from the front grill where the driving lights are on fairlanes and straight into the airbox. thats plenty of cold air.. better than a fake intercooler.. i tried my ba with the intercooler when i was turboing it and it didnt seem much better than standard...

the reason you have an intercooler in a turbo is because the air is heated from compression + heat transferred particularly in the turbo. It is pushed through the intercooler due to it being pressurised (once on boost) and you still can get pressure drop due to its restriction.

Considering how hot N/A air is (comparitively not very) do you think it would be worth adding the restriction of an intercooler (which air has to be sucked through) for the marginal cooling it would offer...

unless your using a dry ice intercooler or something...

I was going to do that but then i thought why couldn't i just put a cooler there instead..
It would do the same job but only feed more air than the tube would..

I get it stupid idea il stick with the flex hose

+1 wont really be efficent unless the air is pressurised

2 1/2 inches inlet and outlet or something pathetic like that.

 i completely forgot about the getting locked in the boot, funniest s**t ever, the fordmods film crew never did the re-enactment of it.
Oh and chunkz, where to start with the telstra loving homo, maybe the part where he put the wheel on backwards........
