Does anyone know what ratio gearing the XT BA series 2 5 speed box has in it also how can I find out what ratio my diff is. I only ask after reading all the arguing in another thread? I hit 200 in 4th in my BA today at only just over 5500 like not even the thickness of the needle over. For that matter can some one also tell me where tofind what the car is ment to be speed limited and/or rev limited to??

Cheers fellas.

The utes are limited to 180km
sedans limited to 200km
XRs limited to 220km
and FPVs limited to 240km

My auto had heaps left in it at 200km, but my manual ECU came out of a ute so i have a 180km limiter (my diff ratio is different tho so I can pull a whole 183km)

I'd say 240km would be easy without a limiter, but my cars not stock.

CAPA flash tune, or a sniper edit will get rid of your limiter..
How bad do you need to know gearbox ratios? Im too slack to look them up, but if you NEED them I will..

Hope this helps

Happy Motoring

pretty much the same, i read somewhere that the ecu changes the rev limit to suit conditions, like hot or cold conditions. ive had it cut out at 6 once that was doing a burnout but other than that usually around 200rpm before

Utes and sedans are correct, XR's are 230 and FPV's are 250. I think the wagons are 180 as well.

Alright, here you go.
For a manual I6 or XR6:
1st: 3.35:1
2nd: 1.92:1
3rd: 1.29:1
4th: 1.00:1
5th: 0.72:1
Reverse: 3.15:1

And as a Comparison, XR6T:
1st: 2.95:1
2nd: 1.94:1
3rd: 1.34:1
4th: 1.00:1
5th: 0.73:1
Reverse: 2.76:1

The diffs are a 3.23:1 or a 3.45:1 in IRS units, or solid beam units(utes, wagons) have 3.23:1 and 3.46:1

Hope this helps.

Happy Motoring
