hey guys, im about to buy a new car.. well in the next 2 months or so, and ive been thinking.. Im gona get an XB Sedan, cause I love the shape and have owned an XC before so know the cars well, its going to be a driver, but more of a weekender as I have a company car! I have been toying with the idea of running a BA Dedicated gas engine in it, with a Gas Research Carby.. possible or not? dont want to run computers or anything.. but im just wondering if i would need to for the Dual Camshafts.. pretty much want to keep it as Simple as possible.. no power sterring or anything.. and maybe run a supra 5 speed or a t56.. love to Turbo it to but I just want to know if any1 has had any experience with retro fitting these engines?

These engines will not run without a pcm, there is no dizzy drive & the cams also need a pcm.

Also being such a new engine you have to use closed loop control on the gas fuelling. Your pretty much restricted to a stock Egas setup, or an upgrade to injected LPG.

It'd be alot easier to run an AU motor on a GRA carby with a dizzy and a standalone electronic ignition.
You would need an ECU for the cams and ignition even if you were to run a Barra on gas. |

Yes but would it be emissions legal?

Leave the e-gas engine in the fleet cars and cabs and go for a 351 like the XB deserves It's only a weekender anyway, so dont be too concerned about fuel consumption. If it's on gas it'll still be dirt cheap to run anyway.
