Kind of a two part question I guess:
I recently had a cat back exhaust installed and I noticed the long pipe after the cat wasn't modified, just the bolt on section over the rear axle / rear muffler was replaced, is this normal ? For the price (just over $400) I woulda thought it would be modifying that pipe behind the cat also, I would have just bought something on ebay and fitted it myself if I new that was all they were going to replace (probably should have asked them this beforehand perhaps also..) I was planning on getting extractors in the future also, and it seems the stock cat section is from the stock header the the rear part of the exhaust, I guess you can't keep the stock cat and upgrade to extractors ? Although from searces on this forum I see people have done this before ? cheers for any help on this ! |

In my opinion a cat back system means exactly that, everything from the cat to the rear bumper is upgraded or replaced. I would have to go back with WTF! on my mind.

Either that or it's a very expensive tailpipe.

I gave em a call and they said its from the flange at the end of the cat... which happens to be post about 1.2m of piping on the BA, and that when I get the extractors and high flow cat this then gets modified...
