hey i got a 2002 BA XT falcon and was recently shocked when a stock standard ED falcon managed to pull away from me at the lights. Of cause i got him but there was very little power in the car till at least 3000rpm. At the moment the only mods are a 2 1/2inch sports exhaust from the cat back (which helped a little).
Any one got any ideas

It sounds normal to me. They're not that quick off the line, and the topend is where the BA's head makes all the extra power over the ED.

I was told there are torque limiters on the car at low revs.

Removing the 200-odd kg of extra weight a BA carries over an ED would help as well.

XT's don't have traction control.

mmm.. and here I thought the ability to advance the cams at low rpm and retard at high rpm would enhance low end torque as well as top end torque. If anything I would have thought the 4 valve head would be more of a problem. |

lol leave the wife and kids on the side of the road while you go drag racing! lol and BTW... BA XT's do have TC... which is always on when you turn the car on... which kinda sucks. you should know you own a XT... it is the top rectangle button in the set of 2 buttons between the steering column and the headunit |

My XR6 has traction control and the buttons you describe but I've never seen it on an XT. Besides, my XT had no problems smoking it up

I was going to mention something along those lines, but thought it was best not to... |
