Hello,
Ive got a 2003 BA Falcon XT with a 2 1/2" exhaust and a cold air intake.
Ive recently been having an issue with when i put my foot down, there is no power and it sounds like the exhaust is bubbling. It will eventually kick in and the car will fly as it usually would.
I thought it may be a leak in the exhaust, but im 100% sure that is not the issue now. plus i dont see how that would highly effect the performance of the car.
My thought is its either running too lean or rich.
Any thoughts on what could cause? I'm leading towards fuel filter? or do i need a tune because of the mods done?

I almost always use 98 octane fuel, very rarely i will use 95. and i dont touch ethanol with a 10 foot pole.

Please any idea's would be much appreciated!

Thank You!

Might be the Catalytic converter? they can mimic that sort of thing OR, it may be the TPS.
How long has it been since the Fuel filter was changed? you might also have rubbish in your fuel feed pipe.

Im the second owner, but by the look of the fuel filter it looks as if it might be the original :S
Ill go and buy a new one today and see how we go.
Whats the TPS?
Cheers

She is still sick :(
I replaced the Fuel Filter today, still the same issue.
My next thought went to dirty injectors so ive driven for about 100k's with injector cleaner. still the same issue :(

I have taken a video so you can hear whats happening Hopefully (the video makes it sound better than it actually does :S)

Here is video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSNoaCN2wcM, my foot is to the floor the whole time.

So there is Loss of Power, its sort of jerkey
Some times it will kick in as normal and work fine, but that is very rare.

Any Help is much appreciated.
I would like to fix it myself so i can learn something :/

Thanks

It bubbles and jerks. it will do it the whole time whilst planting it. however when i stay at a steady speed its fine as if nothing is wrong.

I was thinking Catalitic Converter, but the car only has 120,000kms on it :/

There is no smoke, and i havent noticed any unusuall smell.

I reckon its the Cat. Take it in for a look at your local exhaust joint.

A stuffed coil could be the culprit. They usually start dieing around those kays

Yep no probs. My coils died shortly after I changed the plugs. Car had 110 kays smack on.
Lol its a good relief when repairs end up being fairly cheep.
Cheers.
