Hi guys
I've got a 2006 ford falcon ute, dedicated gas. Lately when cold it it lurches forward or reverse harshly and then stalls coming up with a Etc light Some times it'll restart fine. Other times it will have a kind of a back fire then after multiple times will start but have a very rough idle and run badly. ( like missing on a cylinder) Once the vehicle is warm no issues what so ever. Any ideas or where to start Thanks in advance |

Also,
I get around 400-450 per tank of gas unsure if that's good milage? I can't seem To get any fault codes out of it either when it does stall. I've not had much work around them Thanks |

If your etc light is coming on, the pcm has detected a problem in your electronic throttle control and it would have lodged a dtc in its memory, the other problem sounds like one of your camshafts is not locking in the fully advanced position when the engine is shut off and there is no oil pressure, and when it is started it is out of timing with the other cam. I will bet money if you turn the engine off and it locks, when you restart strait away it is fine. My straight gas bf does it every now and then, but it will never do it when I have a scan tool hooked up, as far as fuel consumption goes on the highway 13 litres per hundred klm, around town and depending how you drive 15 litres per hundred klm.
