Yeah that's what I was thinking dude, it might be for vaccum or something? Did you pipping when you got it have the cast dimples to sort or sit on the plenum chamber?

Hahahah I had a laugh at that Benny D, sadly it does look like a big d*ldo upon the intake

U mean underneath where a part of the pipe has been moulded / pushed in to clear the bbm ?

Yes mine has those.
Refer to my build thread to fit it, if u wanted to , best way is go to super cheap auto , get 3" pipe and 3" silicon pipe , or where ever else u can get it from

Cheers

The technical side of it is beyone me, but it's something to do with using the sound waves travelling up that tube to create a noise cancelling effect. The EFs had something similar. The EL and AU didn't need it, so I'm not sure how much benefit it gives you.

Yep that's what I mean ef falcon, I'll have another look through your build thread to see how you did it.

Ah that's smart thinking didn't think of noise reduction ! I wonder if i'll hear in difference between this and the EL intake.

i cut the one off the ef intake i had and glassed up the hole. mainly to get rid of the big heatsink hanging over the exhaust other than anything. can't say i noticed much difference other than looking a little different.

i've read the same, it's there to reduce noise.

It basically aids in reduction in intake noise and pickup at low revs??...extra static air to be sucked in at low revs(cylinder filling) so I have read on the internet??. The V8's have a big dog turd hanging of there factory intake piping aswell.
