Hi all

I've been told that its easy to put a bA motor in an EA, how true is this?

Apparently its fits easily and then its not much work to get it running?

Can I Achieve this for <$1000?

Pm dansedgli for a complete list of HOW HARD it is to do.

Also fordman351 has put it into an EL (could be EF) and taken him months and thousands.

My advice, unless you've got stacks of time, money and knowledge, forget it.

Sure you could do it for a grand.
So long as you get a free written off BA and do EVERYTHING yourself.

Why bother? Just get a BA for about $7-8 grand from auction and drive that instead.

What if I were to cut both cars in half and glue the EA back to the BA front?

That costs $7-8k more???????

I reckon its doable glenn but not with a stock ECU. Need an aftermarket one and 7 months in a workshop before it even idles!!

I don't like BA's. As far as the barra goes its awesome but the rest of the car is.. meh :P

$7-8grand is a bit much, i was hoping to spend maybe $1k on getting the engine in the car and maybe $1k, $1.5k TOPS on mods and run a mid to low 13 n/a.

What ECU do you think would run it? Would a microfueller work? I heard they're good in turbo setups so surely they can run a BA motor easily??!

Is there any workshops that do this kind of work cheaply?

I'm only on first year apprentice wage :(
