we have people telling us it cant be done , so we have teamed up with a local mechanical workshop to get a BF I6 motor into a EB and get it running on the factory BA ECU!!

We have supplied them the complete BA engine and it is being dropped into the hole this weekend. This will require mods to the crossmember to clear the sump aswell as a few other small mods like EF heater pipes ect.

Once the Motor is in and the heater , rad & fans , exhaust , air conditioning and gauges are all hooked up and the car turns over . the fun will begin.

We will work together to disect a complete BF wiring loom and discard all the wires that are not needed. We will then wire the engine and using a flash tune and our diagnostic computers remove all the security from the factory ECU.
We hope at this point we will be able to get the car running and driving.
then its off to the engineers to get it all approved !

will keep you all updated on the progress

Now we are talking.

If this can be solved, and within a reasonable budget, this conversion will be the next big thing.

I certainly would entertain the idea.

power to weight ratio should see that EB 5speed running 14's down the 1/4 mile or maybe better????

Just out of interest what does a low km BA DOHC engine sell for on a crate???

Just a quick question Darren, how much would a kit similar tp what you have done cost. I am watching with baited breath. Again well done

nicko deleted me posts... lol

yeah as was said prior i will be watching this topic... as it has potential to be applyed really to any falcon... ideally if a "plug and play" setup was found (ie. buy conversionl; motor, ecu and loom install motor plug it all in and turn the key no drama)

motor is in & all accessories & plumbing is hooked up.

Front of the crossmember was cut out to allow for sump clearance and then spaced and rewelded into place.
Engine bolts in on original engine mounts & bolts up to the early box.
there is about 8mm clearance for the rocker cover.
Enzed were used to make up the new power steering lines and will also make the a/c pipes.
all the original starter motor wiring & sender wiring is being retained so the EB cluster will still work.

today the wiring starts
we have supplied the wiring from a ute without ABS , this includes both parts of the engine bay loom. complete dash loom & front section of the H loom. aswell as the accel pedal ,ECU , HIM & BEM , the auto electrician will start the wiring shortly.
the capa flash tune is also on order and this will be used to remove the security from the factory ECU

pics soon

Excellent.

This then confirms that the easy part is actually bolting the engine in place.

Getting it to run would appear to require a substantial part of the original wiring looms to use the factory ECU.

It will be interesting to see how much of the BA loom is required.
