I hate too say this but when people go on about there XT BA falcon making 150-160rwkw with intake and zorsts mods it's all good. But it's power to weight ratio which makes your car fast or not. Ba's are heavy. about 100kg more than my EL fairmont and I can run high 7's in my EL with zorst in intake mods with a poor start. So there not that special...................yes i have watched all the u-tube vids and it doesn't enspire me to buy a BA XT unless a turbo or fit 3.9diff gears then it will rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably look at a BA turbo there going for around $18000 now for a good example. Although if you under 25 insurance could be a problem.

cheers..........

I will tell you what is gay, these young blokes in a mildly worked gemini trying to take on a BA Turbo out of a corner. These guys have serious issues if they thought there 1600cc isuzu carbi engine could pull out infront of a BA turbo. Although I have seen gemini's fitted with 13B rotary's and they fly.

they make s**t loads more then the single cam NA6's dont they, i would say you would be able to get over 200rwkw with a heavy cams.

Yeah heaps more power... but the weight of the BA is killer. Mine is 1890kg + driver + stereo. So over 2 tonne... they need the extra power!
200RWKW would be a big ask... but with heavy cams as you say, its probably achievable!

mine made 178 without a tune, but I reckon the dyno must have been a bit lenient, it felt sorry that I was the only car there that looked stock.

exactly!.. "catch 22" ba's are heavy as compared to the e series.. got down to almost a flat 14 sec pass with 1520kg of ef fairmont with about 170RWKW down the quater on 19's..

Smiley Ran a 15.1 with his 178RWKW... goes to show what weight can do.

so a 140odd rwkw e series would be about the same as a 175-180rwkw BA in terms of quartermile times?

As a rough comparison i'd go with yes. 140od would run almost a 15 flat if not lower.

Power: 171 rwkw

as per my signature my au went 15.3@90mph with a 2.1 60 footer with only 114 rwkw(the car still had the 10yr old original exhaust, put on a 2.5 mandrel system and made 136 on the same dyno) The au's are lighter than b series, but not quite as light as an e series. The ba motor is really gona liven things up in six months
