Hey all,

I have an 05 BA, im in some serious need of ideas for my car, as i have become either "bored" or "used to" the power she is putting out. Atm she has extractors, full 2.5 inch system, f6 intake with k&n panel filter, and a flash tune done by ChipTorque Motorsport. I don't know what i should move onto next, my housemate keeps suggesting cams, but several places including chiptorque have said that there is no point in changing the standard ba cams. there is a manual conversion happening in a week. but yeh, if any1 can give me ideas, would be greatly appareciated. Also, i would like to keep it NA, so no turbo or chargers :)

Cheers
Matt

tried the under drive pulleys?? good for something like 5 rwks on the na i6..

try rigging up your own polished 3 inch mandrel bend air box to throttlebody intake..

try a 4.11 diff ratio for snappy exceleration...

What would 4.11's do to a stockish BA's drivability?? As a daily I mean - Prob 2500rpm or more on 100km/h?
I would imagine economy would completely go out the door - crikey

id say more like 3000.

my EL auto with 3.45 did 2250rpm @ 110kmh, now with manual it sits at 2600rpm @ 110kmh.

could try3.7's as a compromise.. but hell... the man is talking about being bored and use to his current power out put with the ods allready performed.. fuel economy i read seems to have taken a back seat to performance i'd say in his book...
economy can be decent or crappy depending how hard you punch the "go" pedal anyhow..

Matt, do you remember Ken from the Gympie skidpan day last year? his BA XT with a 5 speed and 3.45's does 1800rpm@100, stepping to a T56 in that very soon, so that will drop again to about 1650rpm@110. I'd go underdrives and a tune with the T5 and see how it goes first, the manual makes a massive difference in the BA, Ken gained 0.5s down the 1/4 with no changes other than the manual, on his first day with it in the car.

fuel economy means nothing to me, she drives me 12k's a day, a lot more on weekends, but money i spend on petrol i dont see a waste lol how much should a manual coversion be setting me back? its a 6 spd out of BF series one, ive been quoted $1000, which i dont think is too bad. I also want to get a quote on an xr6 lsd, non chicken scratch lsd that is. Who would i go to to see about changing the diff gears/ratios and under drive pulleys? There are plans for a supercharger next year, but thats a fair bit of money down the track. Are cam's something i should consider? Also, this may be a stupid question, but I don't know a hell of a lot about cars, but, is there such a thing as a stroker kit for falcons?
Thanks for the replies guys, muchly appreciated

When you say quoted do you mean a place doing it? If so a grand sounds really cheap, I would be telling you to inspect it pretty carefully even if this was just a supply cost...

Is that fitted? And do they know how to do a manual conversion in a BA? PM me the source because Ken payed $2200 for the 6spd box alone.
