My BA six has extractors, exhaust, cai and a capa edit done. What would be the next logical step towards more grunt short of a forced induction set up? I don't want a turbo/blower because then the insurance won't like me.
I'm assuming fiddling with engine internals would be next?

Fnp, do you know what power your car is making now? Did you need a fuel pressure regulator with the edit?
Who did your exhaust and how loud is it? Cheers! |

Who did your exhaust and how loud is it? Cheers! It pulled 170rwkw on the dyno. Nothing has been done with the fuel system at all. The exhaust is fairly quiet around <3000rpm, after that it has a nice roar but not obnoxiously noisy (still got two mufflers and a resonator). The whole setup was done by D&T Performance.

I think you said it FORCED INDUCTION is the next logical step.
You could look at headwork but thats a good head and small gains for big effort here. You could look at a set of Nizpro cams which would light up the top end for a N/A dyno day winner but on the street this might be a bit limp down low. 170 is pretty good ony 15rwkw behind some BA XR6T's I have seen run on the dyno! |

170 rwkW ?Why not just be happy with what you have? heehehe, kidding. You could
- get a head job - Change the induction - Change the ECU, or get a piggyback - Screw around with the varable valve timing to get it to opertate at as lower RPM as possible. I know this works for honda's (the kings of VVT, or what they call Vtec) |

Nizpro cams are great and from what ive seen and read, they don't sacrifice any power or torque down low. On the engine dyno sheet, the nizpro motor with a full exhaust, edit and cams (same mods as yours fnp) produced 380nm at 3200rpm which is the same as a stock motor and from 3200rpm on, the torque just escalates. Power was very impressive, around 200kw at 4300rpm and making smack on 250kw at 5500rpm. I'll try to post up the dyno sheet.

I'm not entirely sure but I'd guess about a mid-15. Mine should make it into 14's I'd hope. Should take her down one day for a run

Do you know what sort of characteristic the cams have? I don't want something that's unmanagable at less then 5000rpm and then goes beserk.
