I recently picked up a BA futura, 134 000ks and i am having some issues when starting.
I go to start it first thing and it turns over but doesn't fire and and after another try it will start and idle roughly for a few seconds then behave as normal. i can switch it off and start it again with no issues. This has happened a number of times after work as well, the car is parked for 8 hrs or so and then does the above, yet i can get in it at other times when it has been sitting for the same amount of time and it will start with no hesitation, there doesn't seem to be a pattern and it seems to be an intermittent problem. It drives fine and doesn't seem to be using any extra fuel in fact this problem at start is the only issue i have. I have done all the usual checks, battery, air filter etc and i think i might be either an injection issue or something to do with the ignition system. any help would be appreciated. |

Hey their, try cleaning out the throttle body with some throttle body cleaner, they are known to get a build-up of junk in the throttle body and this makes them run like s##t,also change the fuel filter,it may never have been changed, and also diconnect the battery for about half an hour and then reconnect,,relearn the computer, thats a start, hope that helps...Vito.
