Hi guys my BA on cold start idles up to around 2 grand for a few secs then drops down to just over 1k a few seconds after. It will stay there for about 5 mins while idleing and drop below that once warmed up. The car will drive fine if i attempt to drive it. Once the car is warmed up it starts perfect. Ive seem to notice this after cleaning the throttle body.
Had the car at Ford on monday. They did there thing and said the car tested ok and reckon its normal for turbos to start like that. Guys should i be concerned? How do your turbos start when cold?

My BF Turb idles at around 1100RPM when cold, once it warms up it drops. It's done it since the day I bought it so I'm pretty sure it's normal, don't know about the 2K startup though.

Thanks for your response. Im still a bit sceptical hence why im happy to hear other B series turbo owners experiences. Went to Ford this morning and explained the situation to them. They still think its normal. :? Car gradually goes to 2k before it drops. Its not sudden.

give your throttle body a clean, tighten up all your hose clamps and see if it makes a difference
