I was wondering if anyone could help.
Once the car heats up, after driving for a while, i begin to get a rattle which i believe is coming from the exhaust, (or under the car at least). If i put it into drive, and have the brake on at idle it makes the same sound, but only after ive driven it for 10ish minutes. Then once i put it into park it goes away unless i rev it as seen in the video. If anyone could give me some insight as to what this might be, and if the repair would be a pretty simple job, as im keen on saving some money by doing it myself (having recently spent $270 to get the rear door actuator replaced). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2jCbZ0fAUI Also the car is on injected gas, if that makes any difference |

I think you will find that this is the heat shield on the Catalytic Converter. It was a problem with BA/BF exhausts and usually requires put a BIG Hose clamp (or Two) on the Cat to shut it up.

Some of my mates yesterday seemed to think id be best taking it to an exhaust shop and getting them to suss it out, but you think the hose clamp should do it ?

BA's and BF's did this rattle thing. It was found that the heat shield was the problem so, the mechs used to be VERY large Hose Clamps on them to shut em up.

Do you mean around the whole thing, because thats what we're gonna try next. ill upload a video of the sound again, this time a little more intense, that way you can just check its the same thing.. |

Hopefully the video is processed by the time you guys see it, http://youtu.be/BKFkjA3y0Ao i think you can just see where we chucked one of the hose clamps. |

The second link didn't work but the first one is definitely the shield. The hose clamps have to be large ones, like 4-5".
