I'm half way through replacing the alternator on my '03 BA XR6 Turbo, and it's a real ball-ache.

Anyone ever completed this task and can give some advice?

I've got the old alternator completely undone, but it's impossible to get out of location because of all the intercooler, oil, and powersteering piping around it.

Any advice on the best approach much appreciated.
