So not worth looking into? Dont want big headaches. Dont like the thought of turbocharging my motor. Been there, done that. Nothing but a money pit. Id rather a motor built for it.

If you dont want headaches.. I wouldnt do it. You could rebuild your engine with a turbo so everything would be new.... just a thought |

Then go for it.
You will need an aftermarket ECU. Im pretty sure the sump clears okay in an AU. FTG autosalvage fitted one up. Cut the ribs on the bonnet and your done. What trans do you have now? It might need to be upgraded. |

Be gentle
I'd be factoring in a gearbox upgrade if you want to make any decent power. |

mate there are some headaches but it can be done. you should think about how much you wanna spend and how much time you wanna take to get your car turbo. i am doing mine at the moment and it has taken over 3 weeks now. you can do it with the factory stuff and it will run just takes time putting all those wires in. i would start with the factory setup then flash tune the ecu it will save you loads of money and time. i chould help you if you want any info pleased to help you out. |

Hey, just my two cents worth. An Au is an already good car. Why bother chucking the BA turbo motor in.
I reckon you will have heat issues, that happen in the BA and thats fully tested by ford so I reckon you are opening a can of worms. I reckon you should just whip and good cam in, some diff gears, some head work and you will be going plenty fast. Dont get me wrong, but you could just about buy a BA turbo by the time your finished with it.

ive heard that the AU motor was the best ford ever produced. im not sure on that anyway. i thought that the BA only had a diff rear end and front end to the AU? body anyway. so if thats the case it would fit right..
