i'm really thinking about doing this @ the end of the year switching my El XR6 engine for a BA XR6t engine and bits.. my goal is for a 300+kw car. I'v already converted the car to a manual and it runs so much better just from that, but if i can do all this for around $7000 (when selling my old engine), im going to just it a try

engine will bolt in with a little cutting and welding on the crossmember
the same as you would with a AU motor. the mounts bolt straight in. and you would need to allow a fair chunk for install if you couldnt do it yourself. but if you wanted to try i would think there would be plenty of helpers here. |

Is it true that if you modify the structural support of a vehicle, particularly the engine bay, that you need an engineers certificate before it can put on the road legally?

for the money you spend on doing the conversion it'd be cheaper to get your engine rebuilt with a big turbo and have the same + more output kw from it.
