I had a huge leak from my gearbox, Didnt catch his name but, he worked for Ford over here, d***head forgot to fill the box back up after a full service, Oh well, they coughed up a brand new 6000 dollar box for all the troubles. Other than that, idler pulley, some groaning from the power steerign and a little noise from the LSD. otherwise fine.

I've had no major problems with mine. The little problems I've had are shuddering brake discs, handbrake adjustment and faulty door lock actuator. Incidently, today I was driving and I heard a loud clunk sound from under the car and could feel the vibration of it. This has happened once before so that makes it twice in 6 months. It doesn't seem to effect anything. Is it the dif?? If so, is it serious>

Brake shudder has been part and parcel with almost every falcon since the AU, anything with std brakes tends to get it, Its just a little warping in the rotors, Nothing a quick machining wont get rid of. and if you get an o4, it should still have new car warrantly, so you can get them machined for free at the dealer.

I had the shudder on my XR6T and XT. Just replace with good rotors and new pads (about $250 plus fitting) and all will be fine. Don't let these little things put you off buying a car. Bloody hell, there can be a lot worse. Look for a clean car with an immaculate service history. That's where I'd start.

BAXR6T
New diff at 30,000km (whining)
Brake shudder fixed twice in 35,000km

BAXT
Brake shudder fixed twice in 80,000km
leaking fuel tank (manufacturing defect)
handbrake adjustment.

Andrew
