the crank angle sensor could also be causing these probs. easy to pull out and clean or replace.

Hi, to date I have spent over $3000 trying to fix the miss in my EF Fairmont. Guess what, it's still there. Sooo I"ll give away my kingdom for a 100% fix! Good to know I'm not alone.

Your so lucky! I did my leads, plugs, replaced many sensors, new ecu, just finished the head gasket, fuel filter, etc. All thats left before I shoot myself is a new fuel pump which iv'e ordered and is on the way. Got my fingers crossed!

Mate that sounds suspiciously like a stuffed or real dirty ISC. If you have already ruled this out I will just shut up.

yeh that was the first thing i cleaned.
since i did the plugs its been sweet, cept for evry now and then a lil shudder when i take off from a stop sign n stuff. usually when i've first started it, so im ruling that out as a cold engine *fingers crossed*

probably a coil pack problem, very common. sometimes a new coil pack fixes it, sometimes not.. just "standard" for an ef!!

My wife has an EF.She had some work done on it and it came back with the idle problem. We sent it back and they have changed leads Heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor etc; still running rough on idle.
Cleaning the Crank angle sensor sounds like a good thing.will check that out. Might be that simple.
Save your money before changing everything

Mind if i join you lot, we could start a support group or something? Mine started yesterday.

I haven't changed a goddamn thing yet, tho plugs and leads and all that stuff was done fairly recently.
