Hi folks, just a couple of easy questions: is it easy enough to replace the hamonic balancer seal with the engine in, and, what is the best way of stopping the engine turning when undoing the balancer bolt, besides taking the starter off and jamming a screwdriver in the ring gear. Maybe take the splash shield off the tranny?

Cheers

do a search on here for harmonic balancer bolt removal. Easiest way is to use a breaker bar and crank the engine. Thats a generalization explanation but if you search on here you will get the info, crank seal I dont know. I have to do a crank seal myself soon and have been told its easy but I have not done one before. I was looking at a seal remover from Repco for $30 but havent decided if I really need it yet.
