Just been looking at these manifold insulators both for the inlet gasket and the BBM gasket, pics below of the two.

If it will cool the intake temps it should help the car produce more power with a smoother power curve but is it worth the $250 -$300
Including the new cam and tuned by J3 chip on a dyno would it be worth it or not for the few Kw gain? just after peoples thoughts before I commit to buying it

do a search on autospeed for phenolic spacers (not too sure on the spelling of phenolic -I think thats correct?) - they did an article on them a few years back and autospeed are generally quite thorough with testing to show gains etc...

Have read these but the thing is
*the manifold spacer upto a 5kw gain
*BBM spacer another 5kw gain (increased torque but possibility of topend loss due to VE)
for a 10rwkw gain over standard before a tune maybe worth it ?
*has anyone used these and made any real results i.e worth the money?

"Fiend" on these forums, makes his own version of the phenolic spacer to go between manifold and head (shown in the last photo). Not sure on the cost of the units yet, but shoot him a PM and he'll let you know

I don't think he actually had any before and after dyno results but he did do a hell of a lot of temperature testing.

Depends on what other mods have been done first. Depending on what you can get a head ported for in your local area, that might be a better way to spend $300 - 350 odd.

There's a joint near me in Hoppers crossing that did some port work for me for $30 a port on my mighty boy head, and they said that's the usual cost per port. Your getting a cam, but is the head stock?

Cheers

I wouldnt spend $100 on that stuff let alone 300.

Its only 3kw. You wont feel the difference anywhere except your wallet.

Werent you going to turbo the car? $300 will get you some water and oil lines or a cooler + piping.

Yes am going turbo was just considering the heat transfer due to boost?

Depends on how much you are chasing. BBM will be more than enough in a street application.

If you were going to ditch the BBM you'd get a plenum, you wouldnt put a log on there.

So it's got port work already. Do you have a 3.45 diff? If not, spend the money on a set of diff gears, better gains than a couple of KW at the engine i would be thinking.

Cheers

Won't work for a N/A..... Yes it works decreasing temp.

BBM runner is too long for N/A as it is, if you add one or either spacer you will increase the runner length.... You will also move the injectors further away from the head....

If it worked I would have it on my engine

Money better spent ceramic coating bbm :)
