i just don't see why someone would spend so much money on a falcon, seem's like you have small d**k syndrome

Because we can. Hell, I know MY Fairlane isn't being built to get anyones approval except my own, yet everyone seems to love it!

2-3 grand yeah but when you're looking at the ten's of thousands you're better off saving that money for either a house deposit or something newer or built that quick out of the factory not spend tens of thousands on an engine just to put it in an old s**t beaten up taxi

i enjoy mine too and it's quick and looks nice but there i no need to spend tens of thousands on an engine when you can only do the speed limit anyway

There is no speed limit on QR/Lakeside/Willowbank. I keep my s**t to the track these days!

All good to say you're a good driver etc etc but untill some d***head p plater in a s**t vs commodore who is speeding crashes into you and you have your best mates lifeless body in your arms you'll know what its like

mine is running and should get close to the 270-300rwkw mark and has cost less then 5k. if you look hard enough you will pick up bargains 2nd hand but if i was to buy new for all my parts then it would have exceeded 10k for sure and thats without a tune..

as suggested above throw a turbo motor and box in, wind a little bit of boost into it and enjoy. after that take a look and see if its worth spending money on a falcon to still be slower then a jap car or keep this as it is and build something light and powerful

people are not having a go at you, i done the same at first.. said i want 400rwkw and thought it was easy to do from a SOHC motor (or even a DOHC for that matter) but when you read other threads you work out its not as straight forward as it seems.. yes there is a EB running 400rwkw on an unopened motor... id put it more down to luck and very very skilled tuner but are you prepared to sink 10k into a motor only to cut a corner and blow it up?

it might seem ok to think oh ill just throw it into a new motor.. but most of the time when a boosted motor lets go there isnt much left thats usable

i enjoy mine too and it's quick and looks nice but there i no need to spend tens of thousands on an engine when you can only do the speed limit anyway

no just saying there is no point splashing so much money just into an engine to make it faster when you can only go the speed limit anyway.

So basicly i'm saying whats the point spending so much on an engine and making it go faster when it's your daily driver and probably never going to see the track

so no one goes to the track? i have mates that go to QR almost every week, they go to the drag strip and race... are you working for ACA? are they doing a docco on hoons again?

just because we mod our cars does not mean we are f**k on the street.. have a look at the statistics on what vehicles crash.. most are in the "ok" list for p-platers even tho they are not all driven by p-platers... it doesnt matter what car you drive they can all speed straight from the factory.. why buy a EF/EL fairmont when you can ride in a horse and cart?
