EA has a internal regulator. that is the black box on the back of the alternator. Was this changed over with the alternator? or transfered from old one?

it'll start charging around 50kmh no matter the rev it is. go for a long drive, at least 1 hr or depending on how drained it is.
alot of stop & go, short drives can drain your battery, it'll still charge but not to its full capacity.

it should charge at idle unless the battery is not fully charged or it's stuffed.

I think between 1200-1600rpm depending on which gear you're in. o/drive or 3rd.
