Hi guys was driving into the city tonight when my battery meter on the cluster went red and then when I accelerated all the readings on the cluster went to 0. Then I noticed some steam coming from the bonnet. I opened it and the battery was releasing some of the water from the 6 caps. Anyone know whats happening it wasn't much water coming out at all just a bit worried as the car was feeling a bit funny after that. Thanks guys

+1 for the alternator. Same happened with one of my vehicles a while back and SNAFU-ed the battery(was a Subaru Forester). Be very careful as the steam is water and hydrogen gas - very explosive in the right mix of O2. Need to get the whole electric system checked and I reckon your battery will be toast also(check the specific gravity before you write it off though). Get an auto lekky do a load test on your ignition/charge circuit as you may have a stray circuit also. Thats what they found on the Soob(worn wire on the alternator earthing out...).
