hows it goin, i finaly got around to putting my el bbm on my ed last week and now its got some errors that i wouldnt have a clue what to do with, just wondering if anyone could help
first error, 838. Evaporator Sensor shorted to B+ or Vref second error, 522 NDS - A/C On and , 792 FC2 Output Check Fail thats all i got so far... but i do know that the butterflies dont flick open/shut

first of all! why did you put a bbm on an ed? the logs are a much better manifold! as for the codes, sounds like the ecu isn't Recognising the bbm, might need the el ecu?

because i wanted the better performance down low, and i have an el ecu in there already. eb-ed ecu's dont have three digit codes
but thanks for your input anyway

sorry there mate! wasn't taking a shot at ya,just that i know a few mates that have been playing with manifolds; twin tbs, logs and modi bbm and so far the logs have worked the best! I know hp-hungry has a bbm on his eb and it didn't do much good! but hey your welcome to try!!

na your right mate, im not really goin for any figures or anything i just want something that feels a little better off the line, and with the bbm its a s**t load better altho the accereator peddel is so much more touchy

yea i just let the diagnosis run right threw and come up with 7 codes, 837 Evaporator Sensor shorted to ground, 522 A/C on (which it isnt), 791 792 777 778 all of which are thermos that i dont have yet. and then i got a 795 which is the BBM Output Check Fail, so i recon i used a wrong wire for the little vacum f**k behind the washer bottle
EDIT: and one other thing, it doesnt really idle very well... up around 1500-1100 then drop down to normal an so on

You will find the earlier E series (not sure if this means EA-ED) run a long alloy tube with an adjuster as the evaporator temp sensor - EF/EL's run a bulb which sits at the end of two wires. I suspect the voltage calibrations differ between the two - I've had code 837 on my XH since I bought it (A/C always worked fine though) - replacing the temp sensor for a later one cleared the code. I suspect the XH runs an EL ECU, hence the code.
Only prob is you need to cut a hole in the airbox to install it, and I think the access hole and grommet are just out of sight of the glovebox area behind the dash. You can still plug the later type one in to test this theory though. If your Climate control works fine, I wouldn't bother with the codes. Are you getting any CC faults, e.g. E6, E7, etc

well now its all running fine but i have a flat spot between 2000 and 3500, would that have anything to do with the el ecu?

u need to add a extra wiring to the ECU connector to activiate the vacumn module or try to run full vac to the BBM port to open the butterflies inside that is waht causing the delay
