um,,which hose goes to where? the top one on switch to vacume or to the lil black plastic tube that runs to the diaphram,,,uh nt sure how to state what i wanna know any clearer

I don't think it makes any differance. The switch is just on or off, so it just cuts vacuum to the BBM.

i think it does make a difference because it might not switch over when you hit 3800rpm (could be on reverse), so the switch could be open all the time and lose your low end torque.
i think mine were on back to front and <b>rushed</b> fixed them. have a look at the switch at the front of the manifold. rev the engine to about 4000rpm and see if it switches over. it should move to the left. if it stays constant, then you might have them the wrong way around. im pretty sure thats it...

The reason why I don't think it will make a differance is. Essentially it is a soleniod that that opens and closes a valve. The vacuum line will be shut off which ever way they are installed. Whether it opens or closes is driven by electricity not vacuum. However that is why I provide pics, That is the way mine was on my EL. It looks like the small tubing goes to the BBM Actuator and the large one goes to the vacuum tree.

The way it works will not be affected, true. But some valves need the pressure or vacuum to be on the correct side or they won't open when told to, due to the vacuum or pressure holding them shut. They may also leak when closed if connected the wrong way around.
Check to see if there is an airflow arrow on the valve. The other thing to remember is if it has 2 or 3 pipes to connect to. If it has 3, it has a connection that vents the applied vacuum to atmosphere when its turned off. If this has been mistakenly connected to the vacuum source, you'll have a nice big vacuum leak when the solenoid switches off!
