As I understand it.. it retards the timing by up to 4 degrees if it detects detonation.

Sorry (lateness)I used the EB loom, i had to alter to fit the in and around the BB manifold n to hook up the ISC etc. I havent hooked up the knock sensor either. retards the timing hey. when i first had the motor in it used to ping under load, running on premo helped, all i did was retard the timing (base ignition timing- i think) cos the timing light showed it was advanced slightly. ever since then no pinging but i wondering if i lost tiny bit of power doesnt quite feel the same.

yep you should have only had to extend the isc and tps wires.. the rest is a straight fit. |

BenJ I had to extend the airtemp wires (while it was in the car and threaded through, not fun) but the coil just reached iirc |

there must be slight differences in loom lengths or its in the way its routed?
with mine i only had to extend the tps and isc wires. and when we did mrs eb ghias car i only had to extend tps,isc and the wire to the starter.. |

with mine it all JUST squeezed in. just extended the 2 sets of wires. tho its not all plug and play for everyone. my old EA used 2 TPS's one for the gearbox which had a seperate computer to run it. and the ISC was a completely different plug. my NC however... since its more like an EL then an EB it had all the correct plugs from factory. so now i have spares

2 extra wires for the bbm solinoid and 2 extra wires if you want your thermo fans running of the ecu.. a total of 6 wires neatly taped up and run through the fire wall.. Hi Troyman, Hope everything's been cool for you. Where exactly through the firewall did you run the wires? Did you have to remove any of the dash?

I ran mine through the grommet where the vac lines come through behind the washer bottle.
I believe Troyman did the same, as I copied him. Cheers BenJ

Looks like a consensus. So this can be done without removing dash? Maybe take out the glovebox?
[PS - looking at that photo of your car BenJ, i wonder if you have considered painting the A-pillar and roof black? I think Ford Probe's were often red with black pillars and roof, to compare]

you only need to remove the glovebox, i also removed the passenger side of the dash. bottom section. its easy as. a few screws and it pops out giving you alot more access and arm space.

Yes with the EB Dash you can do that. Completely different story with the EL dash. The bloody thing doesn't come apart like the EB one. But a but of stiff wire and all is possible. BenJ
