I don't think he expected it either.. I think he thought it was empty as he got a bigger face full than I did.
Everyone had to leave the workshop for a while.. that stuff is bigtime acrid... |

It's still slack, all he had to do was depress the valve stem near the receiver drier to see if it was charged. Fortunately it sounds like you all got lucky.
Your car's come up great, love those 'classic look' wheels, remind me of my old Elstar 14x8 chromies from the 1970s. What brand are they? Cheers, Paul

Hello, me again.
I scored a brand new in box XR6 300KPa Fuel Pressure Regulator for $10 plus postage. I will try to put it in tomorrow. BenJ

Hey, What are you doing posting in your own thread?
Frankieh and I were having a private conversation, the nerve of some people! Glad you got the regulator OK, pity you missed the Ghia ECU no worries though, it was only for a MATE and you've already got one of your own! LOL After what you achieved to-day, fitting that will be a POP. or one can of Pepsi Max in BenJ speak. I'll hold your 3/8" drive 13mm well used, chrome socket for ransom until you find another ECU, then I will release it unharmed. I really will! Thanks again for all your help to-day, couldn't have come close to doing all that work without it. Big effort. Cheers, Mac

Paul Thanks for the offer Paul but I managed to find one locally, 10 minutes down the road from someone whom I did not expect to have one! I can really start planning now. Cheers Bruce Oh, and Ben - sorry to clog up your thread and keep taking it off topic. I should really know better!

Hi Paul... They are actually the original jelly bean.. US Indy's....
I'm gonna miss them when I upgrade the brakes later on down the track.. the current disks only just fit with less then a mm between the caliper and the inside of the rim. (they actually hit before I made some.... ahem... modifications to get them on.) I do love them though.. if they were available in a 17" I'd pick them over any modern rim.. (depending on the car I guess) Not sure how they will look once I graft an EL XR front end and rear bar onto it though. rgds Frank |

commandojones... did you use the EB loom on the EL motor or make an adaptor?
I'm doing the later... for some reason I feel the need to punish myself it seems. |

modifying the loom is easy as... you just extend the TPS and ICS plugs.... easy as...

I know.. but I also want to make use of knock sensor and it's also a challange to make an adaptor...
means future people can just join some wires and be done.. |

as am i..
i dont know why you would use the el manifold loom and make adaptors as its just as neat if not neater to just use the eb loom.. once its done you cant even tell.. just look how factory bens and my loom looks. its only 2 extra wire for the knock sensor. 2 extra wires for the bbm solinoid and 2 extra wires if you want your thermo fans running of the ecu.. a total of 6 wires neatly taped up and run through the fire wall.. unless you do a whole body loom swap i dont see the point.. and at any time we can unplug it and re fitt the eb manifold and loom with no fuss. |

A full loom swap was one of the reasons I don't want to change the engine loom... I am putting an EL motor in and an el front end.. decided if I want to go the way of BenJ and do the dash too, I'd rather just swap the whole loom...
still, will see how this works.. if it doesn't I guess I'll be doing it that way as well. |
