I wanna get my EF going as quick as I can on a very small budget (no forced induction) so I'm keen to see what people have done...

EF2 Fairmont Ghia. AU2 engine running EF gear. Intake, exhaust, injection etc; 8" rear stockies with 265/50R15 rubber. Shiftkitted auto, J3, custom grille and dash cluster and lots of other useless crap...

theres a million threads like this. do the obvious first..
exhaust, extractors, cai..
is it auto or manual??
if its auto invest in some good gearing(4.11 for acceleration)
make sure its lsd to put the power to the ground..
and then start looking at a cam, valve springs etc..
how much money do you have to spend???

a manual will help greatly with launche's..
3.45 diff gears..
extractors..
aftermarket cam.. stage 3 cms cam..
shave/port/polish.. stage 2 head cms..
adjustable cam gear..
2.5 inch cat back exhaust..
blueprinted/balanced block..
acl race series pistons../gasket kit..
oversize 68mm throttle body..

150-174 RWKW.. 14.1 @97MPH is my best <power/times...

just throw some 4.11 diff gears in it. that will get you the punch you want,

yeah i was reffering to the 1/4 time, but i got my standard one bored out and new butterfly, im looking into getting some made up....
