I believe it is the seal that needs the lubrication of the glycol. Yep, the ceramic seal still needs lube. are you talking only on the 4's ? or factory pumps? |

Any car water pump has the ceramic seal.....except for the really old stuff, they had graphite inpregnated rope packing.
This is a water pump from a 1935 Willys that I had rebuilt. I made a new shft from s/s, made the new brass nut and brass bushing, and new packing, along with a new bearing. The red cap is a screw type grease cap.....every so many miles, you screw the cap down a turn or 2, this forces the grease in and keeps the packing greased.
