Hi All,

After reading a S%$T LOAD of threads and information i have come to the conclusion that either Pacemeker 4480, Wildcat or Hi-tech extractors would be best suited for low down power and torque, as 90% of my driving is under 2500rpm. Also the Difilippo extractors look good but havent got much info on them at all.

Some questions that need to be answered.

I am running lpg in my EL so would i have trouble with fitting any of the above extractors?

Which part numbers of wildcat and Hi-tech should i be looking at to achieve my goal?

Who has the best quality product?

And does anyone have pictures of extractors im looking for? close ups and everything?

They are more expensive than all those but check the Jmm race series headers. The longer secondarys pick up the tourque big time.

The JMM's have bloody long secondaries though, the difference in low end torque better be substancial for the $$ they ask, Unfortunatly, there is a difference, but not as much as the $4 would suggest.

I would bllok at a set of PM 4499's or somthing like that. And decent mandrel bent system of reputable branding will suit. you want more low end punch? better off changing diff ratios.

I've had a few different sets of headers over the years, there is not a huge difference between them, the main difference you will notice is between press bends like lukeys and mandrel bent gear like JMM or pacies and other.

Not a brand loyalist but there is plenty of gear out there that all works to similar specs, take your budget and take your pick.

ive got jmm headers in my car. good torque curve and all that but to many $$$. the secondaries are also massive and end around where the drivers seat is in the cabin. get some pacies. good price and all that snot

Seems like the 38mm aka 1.5inch primary pipe is best suited for me as it gives good bottem end torque/power

seems like a lonley hi-tech person :P

they have served me very well, from memory they have some press bends, but they are not like crushed trampolene poles that many other headers have, they are quite smooth.

as for low down torque, im not too sure tbh, as i have an EA gear'd manual, and 3.45's i sit at 2700rpm @ 110kph, and other parts such as head/cam are all set up for high end, but that said taking your std 90 degre corner at 30kph is easy in 3rd.

quality, fine ive had them glowing a fair few time times on dynos etc, and the welds are all fine, although after 2 and a bit years i just repainted them as it got some surface rust.

before i ripped the lpg out of my car the omvl r90 (from mem) fitted with heaps of room.

i only have one pic available to me atm, its from my gallery, shows them glowing (they were orenge but camera showed purple) and with gas converter still there.

if you got money to burn, then a set of ceramic coated pacemaker 4480's would probably be the best choice for the ford I6

i dont think you will notice any low end loss, but you will defintely feel it breath better up top.

you're going to want something with a 1.5inch/38mm primary pipe.

once you find all the ones with that size pipe, buy the set with the longest primary pipe.

the old pacie comps and the JMM are the only two i know off.

you'd have to buy second hand to get the pacemaker for what you want.



and before some one trys to tell me that pacie comps are for high rpm only,

Wildcat 21X are tri-y and have 1.5in/38mm primary pipes. Made by Genie but have crushed bends.
