Hi guys, What do you think would be the best head for my Fairmont Ghia? what prices would i be looking at?

if its the xr6 engine ( red rocker cover) then an ef xr6 head

if not xr6 then use standard ef head

the ef head is aparentally the best in the series

Stock ef heads go for around $700 Trade price brand new, second hand ones anyware around $100 upwards depends what work has been done,

but im guessing your going to be up for around $300 for a decent second hand one. then most shops charge 100 for a shave this is a must because the smallest warp and there goes your headgasket,

make sure you also get new valve stem seals as thease are one of those things that go and dump oil into your engine, while your there you might as well get the valves recut, possibly bigger valve ports etc, have fun

thanks for the info mate, any suggestions on a cam while I'm at it. . I hear the wade 1636 are pretty popular
