Hello,

I recently purchased a pacemaker cat back exhaust system for my bf mkII xr6 the exhaust is great however there seems to be to much give/slack and causes a rattle/shake and the noise isn't pleasant.

Has anyone else experience this type of issue before and if so how did you fix it? Due to working standard hours and requiring my car for work, is there a fix besides taking it to an exhaust shop?

Regards

Daniel

Hey man, I got an Xforce system put in my car and get the same thing, havent had time to take it in yet but mine seems to touch the transmision pan or something, not constant but still rather if it didnt do it, not sure how much room there is for adjustment in the system (i cant get under mine to look at it) so if its under warranty u might be better off taking it in, Thats where im stuck with mine too, damn jobs...
Did u get a new system put in or 2nd hand? i was told that u can get vibration through the cat but havent heard what that sounds like though.

It is annoying I know where it is hitting. I know it may need more stabilisers I got the system and installed it myself, didn't have the time to take it to a shop. Difficult to get time off around this time of the year especially for car reasons and no RDO's either in my job.
Basically when the car turns right the weight moves it making it hit, or when given some hurb (new exhaust hard to resist) and new suspension all round.

Also the other problem can't put the standard exhaust back on due to not having a hoist and ended up angle grinding a section out to remove it.

Mine is more at idle, in or out of gear. might have 2 take it in soon, thinking about it is annoying me, if i get in in within the next few days il ask em how they fixed it and let u know, once u get it sorted u should look at getting it tuned, best thing i did for the car

Thanks for that, might have to go an exhaust shop tomorrow.
Was looking at a tune just a flash however the work I've done so far doesn't really warrant a proper tune at the moment.

Well the problem is fixed.

Basically the previous owner had a resenator installed just after the cat which pushed the entire system an inch forward. So got an entire new cat system and a bit of heat and it isn't knocking anymore.

The place I went to is open Saturdays they did a good job just don't like ford exhaust systems believe it isn't designed right. I ended up having a day conveniently.

I've got a few photos but got to redo them now that the car is significantly lower and the rear has the different spoiler.
