It's a BF so it has a secondary oxy sensor behind the cat I believe, are both still there and hooked up? If it wasn't doing it immediatly before the cat converter, than it's likely not related to the usual BA/BF not idling things.. Is the new cat much bigger or more free flowing than the original? If so you might need your tune adjusted to account for the change. (not sure though, but that advice might relate only to the turbo falcons.) If you have an ODB2 bluetooth adaptor and an android phone it might be worth checking your error codes... if it's got an oxy sensor related error, it will tell you so. (odb2 bluetooth adaptors are 7 dollars on ebay and work with any android phone. Torque is free to check error codes on android. ) If you have an iPhone you are out of luck unless you buy a much more expensive wireless Odb2 adaptor. From memory to reset the computer in a BA/BF, you put the accelerator flat to the floor with the car off.. and then try to start it. it won't start, but after 10 seconds of turning over with your foot flat to the floor it will reset and try to relearn the idle etc. It's possible that the exhaust change needs to be accounted for by the computer. I doubt it will make much difference, but it's free and easy so you almost have to try it. |
