Greetings fellow car enthusiasts, guess what?

I bought another Fairmont Ghia. They're a bit addictive.

I will get pics up when I can be bothered, but you all know what they look like.

As title states, this post is relative to my air intake.
(Which is currently stock.)

Before you trolls pop up and say, "go do a search ya t***", I have, on here and Googs, and all I found was a bunch of know alls having a piss and moan about opinions and regs lol.

I'm not looking for opinions, I'm looking for facts mainly, and knowledge.

I will state now that I don't know heaps about engines. I know some basics.

Anyway.

Panel filter, pod filter in box, typhoon kit, or one of those spastic Ss things? Or anything else..

As it is fairly quiet in the exhaust department, I was hoping to exploit that by gaining some sort of interesting whistlling noise, or just something that indicates that it ain't a stock intake. Basically just wank factor, but I'm curious none the less.

Also, a bit more push wouldn't be so bad.

So yeah, wondering if there's any definitive answers as to which method works better, brands, etc.


Opinions are welcome, don't get me wrong.
But keep it relative if you don't mind.

Previous members have run back to back dyno tests with panel filters in the factory box vs pod filters.

There is perhaps 1rwkw in it at peak rpm.

In my opinion, from a performance to cost ratio, there really is no point spending money on it, especially as there are no other mods.

If you get, extractors and exhaust, and add in a higher flowing air intake and get it re tuned, then you 'may' see some benefit.
