Cheers This is suggested on the megasquirt site. Can also try some sort of chamber between the restriction and the map sensor to further smooth the pulses. Forgot to add - this is really only needed when the cam get so big that an EFI system has trouble reading vacuum. In your case, this probably isnt true and the bad idle is more of a result of a poor tune. This restriction/chamber will smooth out pulses in the map's line, but there will still be less vacuum at idle, and as a result the eec will inject more fuel. Realistically your choices are 1. go back to a smaller cam 2. play with cam timing and see if you can improve the idle 3. get a proper tune

Is that a commie air box, fits well where the battery was, she make good power?

Yeah its a VN airbox.
Keeping mind the car was standard with an exhaust and boost controller it made 185rwkw on 12 psi last time it went on the dyno. At a guess its closer to 200 at 10psi now with the cam. Im in the process of upgrading the intercooler right now too. There should be power hiding in there. The factory one is tiny. |

Thanks for pointing out that ECU. It looks like a pretty good package. Gotta love plug and play. The price is right as well.
Its a shame Im not in Sydney, I would love to be a test mule. Cheap stuff is always good! |

Cheers Can I be a long distance test mule? All I really want to do for now is turn the fuel down at idle to compensate for the cam. I will still have the microfueler providing most of the fuel on boost. Maybe later on I would move the megasquirt onto controlling everything once the AU motor goes in and I change intake manifold and go back to 6 injectors rather than 12. 2 weeks til pay day Should I reregister my Maverick or get a megasquirt? Do you have a payment plan? j/k |

Last thing you want is the stock injector maxing out its duty cycle before you peck max boost & KW. running lean on full boost isn't a nice thing to encounter some times. I'm sure you know what I'm bragging about. LOL heres a link which should help with your right selection, you should be able to cather the BSFC from your dyno run. http://www.injector.com/injectorselection.php

Dansedgli wrote: My turbo falcon runs a stock ECU with 6 extra injectors and a microfueler for extra fuel. On the weekend new valve springs and a cam were put in. The cam makes heaps more power on less boost than before but my idle is now shagged.
There is only 10 Vac now compared to 17ish before and the ECU is dumping in a s**t of fuel. Is there any tricks to improve the idle with the stock ECU or is an aftermarket ECU or stock cam my only choice? Cheers, Dan Does your setup use the original ISC Valve? - if it does then you can put a plate under it that restricts the ports - idea behind it is that by evening out the wild swings in revs the ECU can get a better handle on things - maybe a plate combined with the canister in the MAP Sensor line with restrictor might help? Also, Tickford ECU's have better low vac idle capture ability than std factory ones. I think Herrod sell those plates - would of course be vastly overpriced.
