Heard today through an aquaintance who was talking with an insurance claims inspector that the blocks on late model I6s are proned for cracking. Anyone heard anything on this?

No way! I have never heard of anyone cracking a block in a 4L.

ive seen a rb26 block crack, but it was out of a car with heavy mods done to it

I've not heard of 4.0l failing, not without big boost being fed into them.

thats taking a crack to an all new high wow, the one ive seen was quite small compared to that, im talking a few centimeteres long and as thin as a hair, just enough to piss coolant out under pressure

Nope stressed late models windsors are known to fall in half under pressure.

I'm yet to see a split 4L block, even with a few 1400+hp motors out there now!

I've seen the sides for bores bet blown out under high 20 low 30 Psi. 4.0l motors are pretty bullet proof, higher km ones are prone to ring failure or bearing failure, but its all how you treat them. Tune has alot to do with it as well

Ive seen a FG motor with over 600rwkw with a split in number 6 bore.
